Hubert Sagnières

Hubert Sagnières has been an Advisor to EQT since 2021.

After starting out at PLASTISERD in Tahiti, Hubert was made Assistant CEO for Europe at Valois S.A. (1987-1988). He became CEO of HomeSpace in 1988. Hubert joined Essilor in 1989 as Global Marketing Director. From 1991 to 1996 he was President of Essilor Canada, and went on to be appointed President of Essilor Laboratories of America and subsequently President of Essilor of America until 2005. From 2006 to 2009 he served as Group Executive Director, first for North America and then for Europe. He became Essilor’s COO and Director and then CEO in 2010. Since 2011, Hubert has been Chairperson & CEO of the Essilor Group, the world leader in ophthalmic optics. In October 2018 he also became Executive Vice-Chairperson of the newly born EssilorLuxottica.

He is a graduate of the École Centrale de Lille, has a Bachelor in Economic Science (Lille 2) and an MBA from INSEAD.
