Privacy notice

This privacy notice ("Notice") is provided by EQT AB and the other entities listed in Schedule 1, and throughout this Notice, all references to "EQT", "we", "us" or "our" refers to any and all of those entities, and any other affiliated entities from time to time.

We are committed to safeguarding "Personal Data" (i.e. information relating to a living individual and from which that individual can be identified). Personal Data is handled in accordance with "Data Protection Legislation" (i.e. any law applicable to EQT relating to the processing of Personal Data and/or privacy). We will normally process your Personal Data as a "data controller" (as defined in the Data Protection Legislation).

This Notice sets out how we will use and protect any Personal Data collected by us when you: (i) visit our website (the "Site"), (ii) inquire about or use services associated with our business that are available through our Site (the "Services"), (iii) express interest in our business, (iii) are employed by our suppliers and business contacts; (iv) are related or otherwise connected to our staff, for example, if you are nominated as an emergency contact; (v) apply for a job or work experience with EQT; or (vi) visit our corporate offices around the globe, together with other Personal Data you may provide to us or which we acquire through our day-to-day business. This Notice explains our practices and policies with respect to the processing of Personal Data. It includes, but is not limited to, information about the types of Personal Data we may collect about you, the purposes for collecting your Personal Data, the circumstances under which we may disclose your Personal Data to third parties, the measures we take to safeguard the Personal Data, your rights regarding your Personal Data, and the way to contact us to exercise those rights.

In order to provide you with Services you may request when you visit our Site or our premises, it is necessary for us to process some Personal Data of yours. Similarly, without some of that information, we cannot inform you about the Services we have available or that you may request (though if you are currently receiving marketing communications from us, you may opt-out of receiving further communications at any time).

Amendments to this Notice will be posted to the Site and will be effective when posted. Your continued use of the Site and/or Services following the posting of any amendment to the Notice shall constitute your acceptance of such amendments. If you do not agree to any changes that we make, you should not use or access the Site, our premises and/or Services.

Types of Personal Data We Collect

This section explains the Personal Data that we may collect from you or receive from other sources. The following is a list of categories of Personal Data, along with some descriptions and examples, that we may collect or receive.

• Contact details such as your full name, e-mail address, and telephone number. Sources: From you, such as when you visit our Site or our premises, request our Services or apply for a position with EQT. From EQT employees, if you are in the network of, related to or otherwise connected to an EQT employee. If you provide services to us or have a business dealing with us (or are employed or engaged by an organisation which provides services to us or has a business dealing with us), from you or your employer.
• Audio and visual data such as telephone recordings. Sources: From you, such as when you contact an affiliate and the affiliate is required by law to record the call.
• Information about your use of our Site and how you interact with our communications including emails such as your Internet Protocol (IP) address, device identifier, other device information, browsing history, search and clickstream history, online website tracking information, URL referral header information and other data about user activity. Sources: Automatically generated via cookies or similar tools when you interact with our Site or our communications.
• Interests and communication preferences such as your marketing permissions, comments, feedback, posts, and other content submitted via the Site and use of Services. Sources: From you, such as when you visit our Site and/or use our Services.
• Recruitment information such as: (i) CVs, application forms, evidence of qualifications and references; (ii) information relating to dietary requirements and information about reasonable adjustments due to a disability; (iii) equal opportunities monitoring information, including ethnic origin; (iv) interview notes; (v) information relating to your right to work, including passport information, visa details, results of immigration checks; and (vi) information about criminal convictions and offences. Sources: directly from you or from third parties including employment agencies, former employers and other referees.

Where we receive your Personal Data from third parties, the third party is responsible for informing you that they have shared your Personal Data with us. Once we are holding it, we will only handle your Personal Data in accordance with this Notice.

Where you provide Personal Data on behalf of another individual, you are responsible for notifying that individual that you have provided their Personal Data to us and directing them to this Notice for information on how we process their Personal Data.

Purposes for Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

We will generally collect and use your Personal Data for one or more of the following purposes:

• To create, maintain, customize, and secure your account with us.
• To provide, support, personalize, develop and improve our Site and the Services that we offer and notify you about changes to our Services.
• To provide you with support and to communicate with you, including responding to requests for information submitted by you through our Site.
• To keep a record of your relationship with us.
• To conduct business analysis, such as analytics, projections, identifying areas of operational improvement.
• To audit and verify the quality and effectiveness of our Services and compliance.
• To maintain the safety, security and integrity of our Site and Services, including to detect security incidents and to protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity.
• To evaluate or conduct a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of our assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Data held by us about our Website users is among the assets transferred.
• To fulfill our legal function or obligations.
• For our internal business processes, such as updating and maintaining records.
• For compliance, quality, business analysis, training and related purposes.
• To run our business affairs, including internal record keeping.
• To ensure that job applicants have the appropriate skills, qualifications, experience and suitability for each role. We may also process health information in order to comply with our duty to make reasonable adjustments.

Where you have expressly consented or where we otherwise have a right to do so, we may also use your Personal Data for marketing purposes. You have the right to ask us not to process your Personal Data for marketing purposes, by following the instructions outlined in any marketing communications you receive, or by using the contact details in the "Contacting Us" section below.

EQT does not sell your Personal Data.

Lawful Basis

We will generally process your Personal Data for the purposes set out in this Notice because it is necessary for our legitimate interests or the legitimate interests of a third party (and these interests are not outweighed by the rights and freedoms of the individual). The legitimate interests include operating and improving our respective lines of business and analyzing the use of our Site and Services. From time to time, EQT may need to process the Personal Data on other legal bases, including: (i) where you have consented to the processing; (ii) to comply with a legal obligation; (iii) because it is necessary for us to perform our contract with you or take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract; (iv) if it is necessary to protect the vital interests of an investor or other data subjects; or (v) if it is necessary for a task carried out in the public interest. 

Where we process recruitment information which falls within "special categories" of Personal Data (which may include health information), or criminal records data, this is because it is necessary in connection with our employment law or regulatory rights, obligations and requirements.

A failure to provide the Personal Data requested to fulfill the purposes described in this Notice may result in EQT being unable to provide the services in connection with the terms of the relationship with EQT.

Data Storage and Retention

We will only process your Personal Data for as long as necessary. Generally, the criteria used to determine our retention periods are based on (i) the period we have a relation with you, (ii) the periods we are required to keep your Personal Data under legal obligations (for example in the field of tax and accounting), (iii) the periods necessary for us to establish, exercise and defend legal claims (e.g. based on periods of limitation in law) and (iv) the period for which we need your Personal Data for justified business purposes.

Protection of Personal Data

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural security measures that comply with applicable legal and regulatory standards to safeguard your Personal Data. Access to such information is restricted to those employees who are trained in the proper handling of client information and have a legitimate business need to access that information. We follow generally accepted standards to protect the Personal Data you submit to us, whether that information is in transit or at rest. No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

If you follow a link to any of these websites, please note that these websites have their own privacy policies and that we do not accept any responsibility or liability for these websites or their related policies. Please check these policies before you submit any Personal Data via these websites.

Our Site and Use of Cookies

A cookie is a small file that is sent to your browser from a web server and is stored on your computer. We use cookies in order to make the Site work, to make the Site work more efficiently (e.g. by remembering information about your preferences), and to gather information on use and performance of the Site (for example, to analyze web traffic and identify which pages of the Site are being used).

You will normally see a message on our Site before we store any non-essential cookies on your computer which describes the type of cookies we use and what information the cookies will collect. Automated Decision Making

We do not use automated processing, including profiling, to make decisions that will have either legal or material effects on you.

Sharing Your Personal Data

We may share your Personal Data with (i) our affiliates, business partners, other third parties including our investment advisors, professional advisors and third party service providers (and their respective agents and employees), (ii) exceptionally, where we are required to make the disclosure by law, in connection with legal proceedings or otherwise upon governmental or regulatory request; or (iii) where we believe it is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights or property of EQT. We share your Personal Data for the purposes set out in the "Purposes for Collecting and Using your Personal Data" section above. If we share your Personal Data with third parties performing services for us, or acting on our behalf, we will not allow them to use your Personal Data for other purposes, and we will contractually require them to protect your Personal Data.

International Transfers of Personal Data

The use and sharing of your Personal Data, as described in this Notice, may involve international transfers, including transfers to countries which do not have data protection laws as strict as those in your jurisdiction of residence. Your Personal Data may also be accessed by our staff operating in different jurisdictions. See Schedule 1 for a list of the jurisdictions in which our affiliates operate.

In these cases, we will ensure that there are appropriate agreements in place with the recipients of your Personal Data or other appropriate safeguards for the transfer of your Personal Data. For example, where the EU GDPR or UK GDPR applies, this means we will only transfer Personal Information to an affiliate or third party outside the UK or EEA if: (i) that third party is situated in a country that has been confirmed by the European Commission or UK Government (as relevant) to provide adequate protection to Personal Data, (ii) that third party has agreed (by way of written contract or by some other form of data transfer mechanism approved by the European Commission or UK Government) to provide all protections to Personal Data as required by the Data Protection Legislation and we have undertaken a transfer risk assessment in respect of the transfer (as required), or (iii) we have your explicit consent to do so (such as where you have requested us to make the transfer). Your Data Subject Rights

• The Data Protection Legislation provides data subjects with certain rights regarding their Personal Data. Depending on your jurisdiction and subject to specific local law provisions, you may be entitled to some of the following rights:
• The right to obtain information regarding our processing of your Personal Data and access to the Personal Data which we hold about you.
• The right to withdraw your consent to our processing of your Personal Data at any time. Please note, however, that we may still be entitled to process your Personal Data if we have another legitimate reason (other than consent) for doing so. Where the processing of Personal Data is based on legitimate interests, you have the right to object to the data processing under certain circumstances.
• In some circumstances, the right to receive some Personal Data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and/or to request that we transmit the data to a third party where this is technically feasible. Please note that this right only applies to Personal Data which you have provided to us.
• The right to request that we rectify your Personal Data if it is inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete.
• The right to request that we erase, delete, or destroy your Personal Data in certain circumstances. Please note that there may be circumstances where you ask us to erase your Personal Data, but we are legally entitled or required to retain it.
• The right to object to, and the right to request that we restrict, our processing of your Personal Data in certain circumstances. Again, there may be circumstances where you object to, or ask us to restrict, our processing of your Personal Data but we are legally entitled or required to continue processing your Personal Data and/or to refuse that request.
• The right to lodge a complaint with the data protection regulator if you think that any of your rights have been infringed on by us.

Supplemental Privacy Notice for California Residents

This Notice supplements the Privacy Notice set forth above with respect to specific rights granted under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”) to natural person California residents and provides information regarding how such California residents can exercise their rights under the CCPA.
