In 2004 EQT Expansion Capital I provided mezzanine financing for the acquisition of Sportfive GmbH - a leading European sports rights agency for football.

Its business comprised the marketing of broadcasting rights for UEFA Cup and Champions League qualifiers, World and European Championships qualification games and international friendlies.
