EQT PRI Transparency Report 2020

Every investment has an impact on society, whether intended or not – EQT strives to make a positive impact in everything it does. EQT integrates responsible investment and ownership principles into all EQT funds’ investments, from start-ups to mature companies, for the benefit of fund investors, shareholders and the wider society.

As the first Nordic private equity firm, EQT became a signatory to the United Nations-supported Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) Initiative in December 2010. As a signatory, EQT reports its progress towards implementing the six principles in the relevant modules Organisational Overview, Strategy and Governance, Direct – Fixed Income, Direct – Private Equity and Direct – Infrastructure. A highlight in this year’s report is EQT’s continued engagement around climate change and integration of the Sustainable Development Goals in its value creation process. Being a strong promoter of transparency, EQT has this year conducted a limited assurance of key data and, like previous years, makes all its responses in the report publicly available.

PRI at a glance
The PRI is the world’s leading proponent of responsible investment. It works to understand the investment implications of environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors and to support its international network of investor signatories in incorporating these factors into their investment and ownership decisions. The PRI acts in the long-term interests of its signatories, of the financial markets and economies in which they operate and ultimately of the environment and society as a whole. The PRI was initiated in 2005 and since then the number of investment managers, asset owners and service providers being signatories has grown from 100 to over 2,300.
