Four prestigious industry awards to EQT
It is a pleasure to announce that EQT has won four industry awards: three in the Private Equity International Awards 2016 (PEI) - Large-cap firm of the year in Europe, Lender of the year in Europe and Firm of the year in the Nordics - and one in the Private Debt Investor Awards 2016 (PDI) - Lender of the year in Europe.
Private Equity International and Private Debt Investor’s annual competitions are based on input from stakeholders in the private equity industry across the globe and the awards set out to commend distinguished achievements during the year.
Thomas von Koch, Managing Partner and CEO at EQT, comments on the awards:
“This is great news for EQT, we are honoured but always remain humble. These awards confirm that our global integrated alternative investments platform is a force to be reckoned with. And behind lies hard work, passion and strong relationships. I am really pleased to see that EQT is taking a real stance in the Credit sphere - special congratulations EQT’s Credit team, scooping two awards as lender of the year.”
Below are Private Equity International’s motivations (shortened):
Large-cap firm of the year in Europe
“Since Thomas von Koch took the helm in 2014, Swedish firm EQT has moved onto another plane and 2016 was the year it cemented itself as leader of the next generation of industry giants.”
- Lender of the year in Europe
“EQT Credit closed its first fund focused on direct lending to European mid-market companies in 2016, surpassing its EUR 500 million target to reach EUR 530 million, one of the factors behind its victory in the Lender of the Year in Europe award. The fund was launched in 2015 and has deployed around 60 percent of its capital across 10 deals in Europe.”
Firm of the year in the Nordics
“EQT may be well on its way to becoming the “Swedish Blackstone”, having diversified among asset classes, strategies and geographies to touch all corners of the globe, but the Stockholm-headquartered firm has not abandoned its roots."
Private Debt Investor’s motivation (shortened):
Lender of the year in Europe
“The Mid-Market Credit strategy is part of a three-pronged investment platform, which includes the Credit Opportunities funds – focused on operationally sound businesses challenged by excess leverage or the need for additional capital – and the rapidly-growing Senior Debt programme.”
