EQT III (“EQT”) today announced that it has sold its remaining stake of 15.9% in Symrise AG via a placement by Deutsche Bank. EQT invested in the business more than four years ago, developed it into the 4th largest producer of flavours and fragrances worldwide and floated Symrise in December last year.
Bjørn Høi Jensen, Senior Partner at EQT Partners, said: “EQT acquired Haarmann & Reimer and Dragoco in 2002, successfully integrated the two companies and used their complementary core competencies and technologies to create one of the global leaders in this market. Over four years as shareholders, we saw the company prospering in market share, sales and profits, and we are very pleased about how Symrise has continued to develop since its stock market debut back in December 2006”.
Symrise was floated in December 2006 where EQT III reduced its initial stake of 52 percent to 15.9 percent of the share capital. Since its initial trading share price of EUR 17.25, the company increased its market value by 22%.
