EQT Expansion Capital I provides a mezzanine solution to finance an add-on acquisition made by MTH. The transaction also involved the partial refinancing of shareholder loans.

MTH operates in niche segments of the market for metallurgic heat treatment furnaces. Metallurgic heat treatment furnaces are key to performance of highly stressed components. MTH consists of three subsidiaries, Schmetz and Mahler, both based in Germany, and BMI in France. MTH had approximately 155 employees and sales of € 37 million in 2004.
