Investor AB and AEA set up new buy-out fund, with Lars Ramqvist as Chairman

Due to their success with Scandinavian Equity Partners, Investor AB and the US based private equity firm, AEA Investors Inc. have decided to set up a follow-on buy-out fund in 1998, which will have SEK 3-5 billion of equity capital available and will invest in medium-sized companies in the Northern European countries. The fund will focus on investments where the transaction value exceeds SEK 500 million.

The name of the fund will be EQT Scandinavia II.

The Chairman of the Board will be Lars Ramqvist, Chairman of Ericsson, who joins the following Members of the Board:

Investor AB, Nykredit and AEA set up Danish fund

Attractive private equity investment opportunities involving smaller Danish companies have resulted in Investor AB, Nykredit A/S and AEA Investors Inc. to establish a separate buy-out fund for such investments. The fund will focus on investments where the transaction value is between DKK 150 million and DKK 400 million. The fund will have approximately DKK 1 billion of equity capital at its disposal.

The name of the fund will be EQT Danmark, and its Investment Committee will have Harry Faulkner, previously CEO of Alfa-Laval, as Chairman. The Investment Committee will also have the following members:

Scandinavian Equity Partners
Scandinavian Equity Partners was founded in 1995 by Investor AB, AEA Investors Inc. and S-E-Banken. The fund has around SEK 3 billion available for investment in medium-sized companies in the Northern European countries.
