Sale of Flexlink Systems
AB SKF and Scandinavian Equity Partners Ltd (SEP) have signed a letter of intent under the terms of which SKF will sell its FlexLink operations to SEP. SKF estimates that the transaction will generate a capital gain of slightly more than SEK 800 million.
FlexLink Systems' main product is a conveyor system for handling lightweight piece goods. The conveyor system is based on standardized aluminum or plastic components which are assembled in accordance with customer requirements. The system can then be used in customers' own production processes.
FlexLink Systems sells components, systems and services to its customers, the majority of whom are found in the automotive, electronics, food, packaging, hygiene, medicine and chemicals industries.
FlexLink Systems had sales of slightly more than SEK 600 million in 1996. Earnings totaled approximately SEK 110 million, with 233 employees.
