Tom Mendoza

Experience

Tom started his career in the world of hedge funds at ING and PSAM, where he led and managed event-driven investments within the technology and financial services. Pulled in by the allure of entrepreneurship, Tom decided to start his own business, founding Tep, a mobile internet service for travellers, in 2010.

Having built and bootstrapped the business from initial concept into a global and fast-growing profitable connectivity service, Tom then sold Tep to DHI in 2018. Prior to joining EQT Ventures, Tom was responsible for HotelTonight’s international expansion across the UK and Ireland, the company’s largest international market.

As a Deal Partner at EQT Ventures, Tom focuses on the UK and Southern European markets.

Tom was born in the UK, grew up in Venezuela, studied in Boston and has lived in London for the past 12 years. He loves electronic music (amateur DJ), football (Man Utd fan) and spending time in nature.
