Thomas Wang

Thomas Wang has been serving as the Chief Investment Officer and Portfolio Manager for EQT Real Estate's office and life science platform since June 2021. In his role, Mr. Wang is responsible for overseeing EQT Real Estate’s acquisition, development, leasing, and asset management activities in the Western United States.

Joining EQT Real Estate as an Investment/Leasing Officer in 2012, he has been vital in expanding the team and capabilities in key locations like San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Denver, and Seattle. His leadership has firmly established EQT Real Estate as the leading individual property buyer and operator across the West.

Since the expansion, Mr. Wang has overseen nearly 50 property acquisition and development projects totaling over $750 million. In his asset management execution, he has successfully driven NOI growth and occupancy levels and has established important tenant relationships with industry leaders such as Amazon, Tesla, Veritiv, Iron Mountain, PODS, Medline, and Logitech.

Before joining EQT Real Estate, Mr. Wang served as a Director of Leasing and Development at Liberty Property Trust from 2005 to 2012. Here, he managed 5.2 million square feet of predominantly office properties and oversaw over 2 million square feet in development. His portfolio included a $1 billion Washington, D.C.-based joint venture with The New York State Common Retirement Fund.

Prior to Liberty, from 1999 to 2004, Mr. Wang worked at Gensler, advising the U.S. Department of Defense on the asset management of a massive 110 million square foot portfolio.

Mr. Wang holds a BA from Williams College, an MBA with a concentration in Real Estate from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania PennDesign School. His extensive educational background and years of industry experience make him a significant figure in EQT Real Estate’s leadership.
