Fraud and phishing awareness

Fraudsters may try to misuse the EQT name, or claim to act on our behalf, in order to obtain money or personal information. If you come across suspicious activity, suspicious communication, or someone falsely claiming to be connected to EQT, contact your bank or financial institution and your local law enforcement. Official reporting channels are listed in How to report fraud below.

Always verify the authenticity of any correspondence or request that claims to come from EQT or our representatives before you act on it.

How to recognize fraud

Fraudulent messages and websites often share certain warning signs. Be cautious if you notice any of the following:

  • An unfamiliar website. Check that you are on an official EQT website before you enter any information. Official EQT sites are listed on eqtgroup.com.
  • Contact through social media or chat. EQT does not conduct business through social media platforms, messaging apps, or chat forums.
  • Unexpected contact. EQT does not cold call or send unsolicited messages or emails asking for money or personal information. We only contact people from official EQT addresses.
  • Requests for credentials. EQT will never ask for your passwords, login details, or one-time codes. Do not share them with anyone, including anyone who says they are from EQT.
  • Requests for payment or changes to payment details. Do not transfer money or share bank details based on an unexpected request. If you are asked to change payment instructions, confirm the request using contact details you have found yourself on eqtgroup.com.
  • Pressure to act quickly. Fraudsters often create urgency or secrecy. If a request feels rushed, stop and verify it first.
