Malcolm Lai

Malcolm Lai is Head of APAC Development & Construction in the EQT Real Estate team. Malcolm worked for BPEA from 2013 until 2022, when the company joined forces with EQT. Prior to joining BPEA, Malcolm worked at Invesco Real Estate where he was the Head of Development & Construction overseeing projects in the Invesco Asia Funds. Prior to that, Malcolm worked at AIG Global Real Estate where he set up the Development & Construction Department and managed a regional team, after which AIG’s Asian real estate business unit was divested to Invesco Real Estate. Malcolm received his Master of Project Management from the University of South Australia and his Bachelor of Architecture and his Bachelor of Applied Science from Curtin University, Western Australia. He is a Chartered Architect and is registered with the RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects).
