Sanjeev Lakra

Sanjeev is a Managing Director at EQT, where he leads Investment and Corporate Affairs across the firm's Private Equity business in India. His responsibilities include portfolio value creation and investment enablement, while also strengthening EQT's strategic partnerships and engagement with key stakeholders. Based in Mumbai, Sanjeev plays a pivotal role in expanding EQT's Private Equity platform in India and deepening relationships with Think Tanks, Regulators and portfolio companies. Since joining EQT in 2017, he has helped advance the firm's investment strategy and long-term growth initiatives across the region. He also serves on the boards of several companies in India. With over three decades of experience in investment management and corporate leadership, Sanjeev brings extensive expertise in private capital, corporate governance and stakeholder engagement. Prior to joining EQT, he held senior leadership roles, including at Carlsberg. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from Pune University.
