EQT was built on a clear set of values and the EQT Foundation plays a long-term role in helping preserve them as the firm evolves. Through a unique governance model and a growing community of leaders, the Foundation ensures EQT stays anchored in its purpose.
Supporting EQT’s Purpose and Values
When EQT went public, 15 partners came together to form the EQT Foundation and donate a portion of their shares. Their aim: to create a lasting mechanism that safeguards EQT’s values and supports the firm in building a purpose-driven, values-led organization over time.
This led to the creation of the EQT Foundation Membership, both a symbolic and strategic body that reflects EQT’s commitment to stewardship.
A Governance Model for the Long Term
The Foundation owns approximately 1% of EQT AB, granting the Membership a prospective seat on the EQT AB Nomination Committee. This allows Members to contribute to leadership development and decision-making, with a focus on embedding EQT’s values at the highest levels of the firm. As a group, the Membership meets annually to reflect on how the values show up in practice across EQT.
A Platform to Experience Values in Action
Beyond governance, the EQT Foundation acts as a living platform where EQTarians can experience the firm’s values in real time. Through its philanthropic initiatives, employees gain leadership experience, collaborate with entrepreneurs, and work alongside colleagues and alumni who model purpose-driven action. This hands-on engagement reinforces a culture where values aren’t just stated, they’re lived.
