Björn Ström

Björn is a Swedish engineer with a formal education in Industrial Engineering and Management, specializing in Computer Science and Finance from Linköping University, with a semester in Sydney. He joined EQT Ventures as an Analytics Intern in 2016. After the internship, Björn went on into various startup endeavours, most prominently co-founding Alva Labs in 2017, where he served as CTO until 2022 and now continues as a Board Member. He returned to EQT Ventures in 2025 as a Software Engineer, bringing with him years of hands-on experience building products from the ground up.

His focus is on how to practically use AI in investment decisions. With a background in both computer science and finance, he spends his time developing tools that help identify and evaluate companies.

Outside of work, Björn enjoys trail running, skiing, and playing guitar and piano. He spends his free time with his family, including his two kids, and appreciates the continuous learning that comes with working at the intersection of technology and venture capital.
