Our goal is to develop a tool to identify those at risk for difficult deliveries and assess their postpartum recovery to help prevent life-long sequelae from difficult births. We will follow an iterative design process that combines 3D printing prototypes for faster turn around, testing them using a biomimetic viscoelastic birth canal, and continuous integration with manufacturing experts to keep to expected production cost at less than 5€ per device. In addition, we will continue to engage with potential customers, end users, and payers to ensure our device meets market needs.
