DIVA: Diagnostic Indicators for coronary Vascular Angina in women
The DIVA team aims to develop a simple blood-based test to predict coronary heart disease, with a specific focus on conditions that more often affect women. The funding from EQT Foundation Breakthrough science will be used to create such test for a condition called INOCA: ischemia with no obstructive coronary arteries. In INOCA, heart disease symptoms are not caused by blocked arteries, but by spasms or problems in the smaller blood vessels. A condition more common in women. We will use this funding to further develop our prototype assay for patients with INOCA and take the first steps toward filing a patent application and potentially spin out a diagnostic company.
