EQT Impact Challenge Hong Kong

Where early-stage innovation meets global ambition, Hong Kong’s science-led founders take the stage.

About

The EQT Impact Challenge 2025 is a pitch competition designed to spotlight early-stage scientific ventures tackling pressing challenges in climate and health, with this edition happening in Hong Kong. Organised in partnership with the South China Morning Post, the event received over 220 submissions, with four standout finalists pitching for a €100,000 investment and access to EQT Foundation’s global support network and the three runners up receiving €50,000 from Central Cove Group, family office of Jean Salata, Chairman of EQT Asia.

Syngular Technology won the challenge with its augmented-reality surgical platform that turns medical scans into ultra-high-definition holographic images. This “digital twin” of the patient’s anatomy enables surgeons to operate with greater precision and confidence. Already deployed in over 50 bone cancer surgeries at Prince of Wales Hospital, the system blends game-engine graphics and AI to create an immersive, high-accuracy surgical experience. With plans to expand into remote and underserved healthcare settings, Syngular impressed the judges with its clinical validation, global potential, and clear societal value. The win marked the company’s first-ever pitch competition victory.
