Working as an associate at EQT
Real work. Real responsibility. From day one.
As an Associate at EQT, you will not be on the sidelines. From early on, you will contribute directly to investment processes, including conducting analysis, building financial models, synthesising market and sector insights, and supporting value creation across our portfolio alongside experienced deal teams. You'll work with AI-powered tools as a normal part of the job, using them to move faster, go deeper, and spend more time on the thinking that matters.
You’ll quickly develop a broad skillset and gain exposure across the full investment lifecycle, from sourcing and due diligence through to execution and ownership. As EQT operates across multiple strategies and geographies, you will build both depth within your business line and meaningful exposure to how the wider firm operates.
You will be offered a range of flagship training programmes designed to accelerate your impact from day one, including Financial Modelling and EQT Start. These programmes strengthen your core analytical capabilities, deepen your understanding of our business and ways of working, and help you build a strong internal network. Together, they form part of a broader learning journey focused on continuous development, collaboration, and delivering high-quality outcomes.
Where you can make an impact
Infrastructure
You will support investments across different strategies, including value-add, active core, and transition, with a strong focus on long-term value creation and sustainability. You will gain experience across the full investment process, from analysing opportunities and supporting transactions to working with portfolio companies, particularly in areas such as energy transition, digital infrastructure, logistics and essential services.
Private Capital
Work alongside deal teams across EQT’s Private Capital platform, covering Private Equity (EQT Equity & EQT Future), early-stage technology (EQT Ventures & EQT Growth), and early-stage healthcare (EQT Life Sciences & EQT Healthcare Growth). You will support the full investment lifecycle, from thesis development and origination through to due diligence, execution, and portfolio engagement.
You will gain exposure to high-quality companies across sectors such as technology, healthcare, industrial technology, and services, while building a strong understanding of how to create value over time.
Real Estate
You will work across the full investment cycle, from sourcing and due diligence through to asset management and value creation, across a portfolio of 2,000+ properties, from state-of-the-art logistics hubs to high-quality rental housing and student communities, all built with a long-term commitment to sustainability and responding to the trends shaping how people live, work, and move.
Who we're looking for

Many of our Associates come from backgrounds such as investment banking, consulting, engineering, or other analytical fields. What matters most, however, is how you think, how you collaborate, and how you approach problems. At EQT, progression is based on your performance, contribution, and potential. You are likely a strong fit if you:
- Have 1–4 years of experience in a rigorous, analytical environment.
- Hold a strong academic record from a leading university (any discipline considered).
- Are comfortable working with financial models, data, and complex information.
- Communicate clearly, with the confidence to share your perspective and the humility to listen.
- Are driven by the quality of your work and the impact it has.
- Are based in Europe or open to relocating to one of our European offices.
