Jens Schulte-Bockum

Jens Schulte-Bockum has been Advisor to EQT since 2016.

Jens started in 1993 with McKinsey&Co. where he became partner in 1998 and led the Hamburg office until 2003. He then spent 12 years with Vodafone Group in a variety of roles including Group Strategy Executive, Group Executive Terminals as well as CEO of Vodafone Netherlands and Germany. From 2017 until 2024, he was Group COO of African operator group MTN based in Johannesburg and oversaw commercial and technical functions in 20 African and Middle East markets. Jens has extensive experience in all fields of telecommunications - consumer, enterprise and wholesale; mobile, fiber and cable; commercial, technology and digital transformation. He represented his companies on industry association boards including the boards of BDI (Federation of German Industries), German ICT industry representation Bitkom and the GSM Association.

Following his executive career, Jens continues to serve MTN Group on several boards. He is on the international advisory board of the School of Business and Economics at Maastricht University and Trustee of Bankinter Foundation for Innovation, Madrid.

Jens holds a Bachelor degree in Economics (Diplom-Volkswirt) from Kiel Univeristy and a Master of Arts (Economics) from the University of Chicago.
