Clay Shumway

Clay Shumway is a Partner at EQT, Co-Head of the Americas, and leads the firm's Private Capital investor relations and fundraising efforts in North America. In this role, Clay oversees LP engagement, capital formation, and client strategy for EQT's private capital strategies in the region.

Based in New York, Clay works closely with institutional investors across North America and is deeply involved in EQT's efforts to strengthen and expand its LP relationships in the region.

Clay joined EQT in April 2026. He also serves on the Advisory Board at the University of Utah's Eccles School of Business.

Clay holds a B.S. from the University of Utah and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a Notre Dame Fellow.

Prior to joining EQT, Clay spent four years at Apollo Global Management helping lead fundraising for its private equity, credit, and real assets businesses in North America, previously served as Co-Head of North American Investor Relations and Fundraising at TPG/Angelo Gordon, and held a similar role at CVC Capital Partners.
