About the solution
Biographica is building a machine learning platform to transform how new crop traits are discovered and developed. Traditional gene-editing pipelines are slow, expensive, and have high failure rates. Biographica’s models identify promising gene edits earlier and with greater accuracy, improving the likelihood of success while reducing time and cost.
Early collaborations with customers such as BASF and Cibus have advanced from pilot projects to commercial agreements. Long term, the company will test target edits experimentally, building and licensing a portfolio of validated traits that allow customers to get more crop varieties to market, faster.
EQT Foundation’s investment
EQT Foundation invested in Biographica in 2025 as part of the company’s £7 million seed round. The funding supports Biographica’s mission to make crop development faster, more precise, and better aligned with the urgent demands of climate-resilient agriculture.
