EQT has a broad set of blue-chip fund investors from all over the world, many of which have invested in the EQT funds since inception. A continuous and consultative dialogue is an important part of building and maintaining these long-term relationships.
EQT funds’ investor base
EQT funds have a diversified, stable, and truly global investor base, which includes over 500 institutional investors with no single investor comprising more than three percent of AUM. Among the investors are some of the leading institutions in the world, including pension funds, financial institutions, sovereign wealth funds, fund-of-funds, endowments, foundations, and family offices. Family offices have been important for EQT since inception, and together with the broader private wealth management channel they will become increasingly important over the coming years. In addition to being significant investors in various EQT funds, they also make valuable contributions to the EQT Network as they are often active in industries and businesses that may be of interest to EQT.
EQT funds’ investor base is also diverse in terms of geography. Approximately 24 percent of EQT’s assets under management come from fund investors in the Americas. Fund investors from the Nordics and rest of Europe account for around 44 percent, Middle East 10 percent and Asia Pacific 22 percent.
In close dialogue, EQT strives to foster close and deep relationships with its clients through high-quality services where providing timely, transparent and accurate information is an important part of this. To make this as efficient and convenient as possible, EQT has developed its proprietary Investor Portal where the clients have easy access to relevant information such as reporting and marketing documents.
In addition to maintaining a continuous and consultative dialogue, EQT gathers investors, Advisors, portfolio company CEOs and Investment Advisors once a year for the EQT Annual Investors’ Meeting (“AIM”), where an update on each EQT Business Line is presented and current EQT portfolio companies are reviewed in detail. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the clients with a comprehensive update on current status, the state of the markets in which the EQT funds invest and a general market outlook. It also offers an opportunity to network and ask questions. In addition to the global yearly event, regional annual investor days are arranged in Hong Kong and New York.
