Thorsten Schäfer

Thorsten joined EQT in 2022 to build up and lead the Procurement function. As part of EQT’s Deal Services group, he develops and executes value creation strategies across the portfolio, related to 3rd party spend optimization and portfolio company procurement capability upgrades. He brings over 20 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.

Prior to joining EQT, Thorsten was a Senior Director at Alvarez & Marsal and a member of the European Procurement leadership team. He led complex international procurement performance improvement-, transformation and turnaround projects and acted as interim Chief Procurement Officer for corporate and PE clients in diverse sectors. Before joining A&M, Thorsten held different positions with Wincor Nixdorf AG, including Head of Strategic Procurement Asia, Head of Supply Chain Management Office and Director Global Purchasing.

Thorsten holds a degree in business law (Diplom-Wirtschaftsjurist).
