Clay Shumway

Clay Shumway joined EQT Partners in April 2026, and is a Partner and Co-Heads North American investors will overseeing Client Relations and Capital Raising for EQT's Private Capital vertical. Clay brings extensive, hands-on operating experience and leadership in investor relations and fundraising.

Prior to joining EQT, Clay spent four years at Apollo Global Management, where he was responsible for helping lead fundraising efforts for Apollo's private equity, credit and real assets businesses in North America. Prior to joining Apollo, he was Co-Head of North American Investor Relations and Fundraising at TPG/Angelo Gordon. Before that, he led North America Investor Relations and Fundraising at CVC Capital Partners.

Clay holds a B.S. from the University of Utah and an M.B.A. from the University of Notre Dame, where he was a Notre Dame Fellow. He also sits on the Advisory Board at the University of Utah's Eccles School of Business.
